Hello and welcome to my electronic portfolio. Herein you will find the details of my three year journey in completing my Master's in Public Health at San Francisco State University. From intense group collaborations to challenging individual work, this program facilitated my exploration of the possibilities in the discipline of public health.
Throughout the program I struggled to find a professional identity: an issue, a target population or a cause that might guide me on my path. But the more I studied, the more I came to realize the sheer bigness of the human struggle for health and well-being, and that my part, however small and in whatever issue it may address, is significant and worthwhile. As long as my intentions are good and my will to be critically aware and self-conscious is strong, I will contribute to the public health.
However much I may have learned academically and professionally in this program, I believe that it has been my time with the Berkeley Free Clinic that has most shaped my concept of a noble struggle. To place the interests of real people above all other considerations, even organizational self-preservation, is grace. I want to thank the BFC, her members and all they have given me. Thank you so much for your time, energy and collective spirit that allowed me into your lives.
